This month brings the opening of Dyson’s first ever UK store on Oxford Circus. The two-storey shop, which opened on Wednesday, has no visible areas to pay, with cashier desks hidden in draws and customer service assistants are instead the specialists, taking the visitor through the whole sale process from trying out the products to arranging payment. The store uses it’s own technology to bring the ‘cleanest store in London’ and of course this technology is also on show so the consumer can experience Dyson and understand it before they buy it. Oh and FYI, if you want to book in for a hair appointment, they’ve got that covered with their Dyson Hair Salon too.

Adventuring down the seriously luxurious interior design market, luxury scent brand Le Labo have just opened a new store in Covent Garden. Situated on the ground floor of a listed building, the relatively small store has been designed by the in-house team to create a rustic and artisanal feel. Setting themselves apart from the usual perfumery offering, consumers are able to bring back their empty scent bottles and refill them with their favourite scent.

Beauty brand Nars have launched their first ever standalone store in the UK, following suit to the likes of Charlotte Tilbury (click to see our review) and the Dior beauty concept store – Covent Garden really is becoming the beauty destination of London! Contrasting the bold palettes of make-up against the contrasting stark white interior, large scale visuals present the latest campaigns and TV’s play the latest short films created by the company. Technology is at the forefront of the store with the sales area including an interactive magic mirror for sharing your fresh look immediately and a cult classic wall to encourage more sales. The lower level is a VIP area for those after a little more and ultimately the store leaves you feeling right at home in a chic Nars and Baron & Baron designed, London inspired apartment setting.

Why have one flagship store when you can open two? Exactly the attitude of botanical-inspired skincare label, Malin + Goetz with the opening of their two new London stores in Covent Garden and Islington. The two stores are both completely different, taking inspiration from the alternative neighbourhoods they are situated in. Focusing on the new Monmouth Street location, the latest opening, the store is inspired by it’s theatre surroundings with it’s stage like window and velvet-lined entrance. The duo wanted to create a store that customers felt like they could explore and actually shop in without feeling pressured or overwhelmed. Gone are the minimal display of products and generic visual identity, Malin + Goetz have created a traditional apothecary type setting with a contemporary twist, perfect for the dramatic streets of Covent Garden and Shaftsbury Avenue.
