The New Craftsmen

visual merchandising and store design

Situated in upscale Mayfair, The New Craftsmen boutique is a delight for design enthusiasts and décor connoisseurs alike. Diversifying the retail landscape of this upmarket neighborhood, mainly known for its ultra-luxurious designer boutiques, the bright and airy gallery-like space opened in July and is the first permanent retail destination from the UK design champions. After two successful pop-up initiatives in 2012 and 2013, The New Craftsmen focus revolves around British contemporary arts and crafts, offering a selection of limited-edition furniture, ceramics, glassware, textiles, ceramics and home accessories.  Representing 75 British designers and makers, the focus lies on contemporary and sustainable products from both up-and-coming and established brands. Standout pieces include hand blown lights by Michael Ruh, contemporary tableware by Silvia K Ceramics and beautiful tie-dye designs by Katherine May.

As part of their unique take on visual merchandising and store design, The New Craftsmen will also be hosting regular creative workshops and exhibitions. Visit before the 31 August to marvel at the The Real British Souvenir Exhibition, a pop-up celebrating the very best in traditional and regional souvenirs from around the country. Providing both tourists and locals with the opportunity to discover and purchase traditional and contemporary souvenirs, items on display include jugs and pie dishes in traditional Devonshire slipware, seasonal linen lavender bags and a Britannia-themed tableware collection with eye-catching illustrations by London-based artist Laura Carlin.
