Calling curious, enthusiastic, switched-on humans!

Insider Trends helps large retailers innovate and create world-leading, profitable retail ecosystems. We’ve helped Marks & Spencer, Galeries Lafayette, Chanel, EE, Unilever, L’Oreal, Samsung and Lego understand what’s coming next in the world of retail and how they can boost profits. We pride ourselves on providing exciting yet easy-to-understand insight and inspiration.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for someone keen and ambitious who wants to gain new skills and experience and grow with us.

We’re now looking for someone who loves learning and engaging with the world. You’ll discover and research the world’s latest innovations in retail, tech and business. You’ll need to be fascinated by these subjects, the world and the new – it’s ok if you’re not an expert when you start, but you’ll need to develop expertise pretty quickly.

Your discoveries and research will form the backbone of Insider Trends’ presentations, retail safaris, blog posts, reports and more. You’ll be able to find information others can’t, question your findings and use those questions to inform additional research. You’ll interview retail professionals and innovators – you’ll pinpoint the most insightful ideas that they share, and use these to inform your future research.

You’ll join the dots between the things you find to develop your own hypotheses about what will happen next.

You’ll learn how to package and share insights, either through presenting or writing. We’ll ask you to support us on projects, meaning you’ll get a solid understanding of every part of our business and our projects.

At this stage, you don’t need to be an expert or highly experienced professional. You do, however, need to be a keen and fast learner. We’ll share everything we’ve learnt about trend forecasting, analysis and output with you. but you will be a key member of a small, fast-growing team. You will have a lot of responsibility – this is a great opportunity for the right person to quickly increase their skills, experience and salary.

This is a self-employed position – you’ll have a lot of control over your hours. We will need you to roughly keep to a schedule that you define, spreading the 20 hours across at least 3 days a week during UK office hours (weekdays 9am – 6pm).

You’ll get more from this role if you work with us in person. There will be some days where it makes more sense to work from home.

As it is a self-employed position, you will be responsible for paying your own tax and National Insurance, as well as saving money to cover times when you are sick or on holiday. If applicable, you will need a Visa that allows you to be self-employed. You’ll need to supply your own fast, wifi-enabled laptop.

We hope to hear from people from every walk of life – including people looking to change careers, people looking to get back into work, graduates and more.
